Club Rules

1.    COMMITTEE

The Squash Committee shall be appointed by the members of Penrith Squash & Racketbll Club with the Chairman being appointed by the General Committee.

2.    A.G.M.

An AGM will be held every year in September before the start of the new season.

All fully paid up members of the club will be invited to attend and will be able to raise any matter relating to these rules by giving seven days notice in writing to the Secretary of his intention to do so.

3.    MEMBERSHIP

As per Penrith Squash club list.

Membership allows for associate membership of the Penrith Rugby Union Football Club but this does not allow for full voting rights. To acquire such rights a further £15 would need to be paid.

4.    SUBSCRIPTIONS

a. The subscription payable is as laid down by the Squash committee.

b. All Subscriptions are due from 1st October.

c. If any member shall be expelled from the Club or die, no part of his or her annual subscription shall be refunded.

5.     ELECTION OF MEMBERS

The election of Members shall be by a simple majority vote of the Committee.

6.    CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP

a. The Secretary will inform all applicants for Membership whether or not they have accepted and will see all new Members are given a copy of these rules together with their entry fob upon payment of the appropriate subscription.

b. When the applicant has paid the amount due he or she shall be a Member of the Club and have all the rights and privileges assigned to that Membership by these rules and shall be deemed to have agreed to these rules as amended from time to time by the Squash committee.

7.    GUESTS

Guests are persons who are the personal guest of a paid up Member.  Guests will not be permitted to make more than four visits in any one year.

When introducing a Guest, a Guest Fee of £2 must be paid, the Guest name being entered in the book provided and the Fee paid in the envelope provided with both the Guest’s and the Member’s name entered on the envelope.

8.   REGISTER OF MEMBERS

The Club Secretary shall keep a register of Members containing the name, address, telephone number and email address of each Member.  All Members should notify the Secretary of any change of any of these personal details.  A list of Members with telephone numbers will be kept on the Club premises for the convenience of other Members.

9.   COURT RESERVATIONS

Any Member wishing to play must reserve a court via the booking system held within the club. Double or single sessions may be booked.  Three weeks Reservation Sheets will be posted up at any time. Only paid up Members may reserve a court.

The Court Fees are controlled by Electricity Metres and are split into 45 minute sessions.

10.  POWERS OF COMMITTEE

The Committee shall have power to expel any Member for persistent breaking of the rules of the Club as the Committee shall in its absolute discretion judge expedient in the best interests of the Club subject only to the rules of natural justice.

11.  RULES OF PLAY

The current rules of play as laid down by England Squash & Racketball shall apply.

12.   RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSS

Neither the Club nor the Committee shall be responsible to any Member or Guest or any other person for the loss of money or any other property or for the damage to or loss of vehicles parked on the Rugby Club car park or any property left in any vehicle.

13.  DISPUTES

Any dispute about these rules may be brought to the notice of the Committee, where decision shall be final and shall be deemed to be part of these rules.

14.  BYE-LAWS

The Committee shall be empowered to introduce any bye-laws as shall be deemed necessary to the well being of the efficient and profitable management of the Club.
